Welcome to the Korea Water Resources Association (KWRA)!


Established in 1967, the Korea Water Resources Association (KWRA) is a distinguished non-profit organization dedicated to advancing the field of hydro engineering and water management in Korea. With over 4,200 members, including practicing engineers and esteemed scholars, KWRA plays a pivotal role in fostering collaboration and innovation in the realm of water resources.


Our mission is clear: to drive academic development and public welfare initiatives related to earth waters. At KWRA, we strive to achieve a sustainable balance between structural and non-structural approaches in water resource management, thus ensuring efficient and equitable utilization of this precious resource.


KWRA focuses on several key areas of interest, including securing abundant water resources to alleviate water scarcity, implementing comprehensive measures for water management, and restoring aquatic ecosystems. We are committed to exploring diverse strategies and methodologies for predicting and managing water resources, facilitating knowledge exchange on integrated watershed management, and promoting innovative approaches for scientific water resource management.


As a proud member of the World Water Council and the International Hydrological Programme (IHP) of the United Nations, KWRA actively collaborates with international partners to accelerate advancements in water engineering technologies. Through these collaborations, we aim to spearhead technological developments and address global water challenges.
