Introduction

Korea Water Resources Association(KWRA) is a non-profit organization founded in 1967 to renovate the underdeveloped hydrological technique in Korea by actively participating in the related policy-making, and to improve national welfare by accelerating the modernization of hydraulic engineering.

"water" contributes a great deal to human civilizations and industrial development. On other hand, its immensely destructive power threatens our life and seriously ruins many industries.
The highly developed industrial structure has caused pollution and shortage of water. The increase in demand for water, resulting from the industrial structure and development and higher standard of living, requires improvement of water use efficiency and proper development and balanced allocation of water resources.

Member countries of IHP within UN are trying to foster the rapid buildup of water engineering technology in close cooperation with each other. The united efforts show the improvement of the technological development of water resources in industrial construction and growth.

To meet the needs of times, domestic and abroad, KWRA is incorporated to promote the scientific process of water resources and to lead Government's policy-making for the progress of water resources technology to contribute to national welfare.
