The Korea Water Resources Association (KWRA) is a non-profit organization founded in 1967 with the aim of revitalizing underdeveloped hydrological techniques in Korea. By actively engaging in related policy-making processes, KWRA endeavors to improve national welfare by accelerating the modernization of water engineering.

Water plays a pivotal role in human civilizations and industrial development. However, its immense destructive power poses significant threats to life and various industries. The highly developed industrial structure has led to water pollution and shortages. The increasing demand for water, driven by industrial growth and higher living standards, necessitates improved water use efficiency and the proper development and balanced allocation of water resources.

As member countries of the International Hydrological Programme (IHP) within the United Nations strive to foster rapid advancements in water engineering technology through close cooperation, KWRA is committed to contributing to this collective effort. Such united endeavors demonstrate progress in the technological development of water resources within industrial construction and growth.

In response to the evolving needs both domestically and internationally, KWRA is dedicated to promoting the scientific understanding of water resources and leading government policy-making for the advancement of water resources technology, ultimately contributing to national welfare.

KWRA's major activities encompass:

· Research and investigation on water resources and hydrological technology

· Collection and dissemination of data, information, and knowledge on water resources and hydrological technology
